La Sabliere French Cottage
La Sabliere is a charming Charentaise farmhouse believed to date back some 180 years, 3km from the village of Amailloux.
It sits in its own courtyard encircled by the barns and stables bearing testimony to its position in the past as a market place for local peasant farmers to meet and trade their wares.
The house is privately owned by English couple Robert and Denise Langford who bought the residence back in 2004. Since taking over La Sabliere they have spent considerable time restoring the buildings and the surrounding land back to their former glory. Now La Sabliere remains an important character within the local community.
Robert and Denise welcome you to stay at La Sabliere and relax with a book or simply sit and watch the buzzards ride the thermals overhead.
